While most visitors visiting Hokkaido for the first time wish to ski in the famous resort of Niseko, we recommend skiing in other resorts closer to Sapporo for the following reasons:
– Less crowded slopes: the resorts we ski in have far less crowded beginner slopes than Niseko. Busy ski runs can be quite scary and even dangerous for beginner skiers, and may also result in loss of focus and confidence .
– Shorter transfer times: One-way transfers from Sapporo to Niseko take around 2.5 hours in winter (i.e. 5 hour round trip); our resorts are all within an hour of Downtown Sapporo.
– Value for money: Niseko’s popularity means that it has become expensive; our resorts charge much more reasonable prices for everything, from ski passes and ski equipment rental to food and souvenirs.
– Same powder snow: You don’t have to travel far from Sapporo to get the same high-quality snow as other areas in Hokkaido. Stay local and enjoy all that Sapporo has to offer – including its incredible powder!
